It seems there is always some form of construction going on in DFW, especially on highways. Now, it appears that trend will continue as a new $100 billion transportation plan for Texas was recently announced that includes improvements to DFW highways. The projects will take place over the next ten years.

On Thursday, the Texas Transportation Commission received an update to the state’s Unified Transportation Program. According to Fort Worth Star Telegram, the program includes a list of projects the Texas Department of Transportation plans to develop or begin construction on over the next 10 years. The plan includes improvements to Interstates 30, 35, 20, 820 and 635.

In August, the commission will be asked to adopt the plan, though TxDOT claims the program is “neither a budget nor a guarantee that projects will or can be built.” If approved, North Texans can expect more construction over the next 10 years. At least one day all the road work may be worth it.
