If you’re looking for a new recipe to impress everyone at Thanksgiving this year, you need to plan a trip to Denton and the Bragg Huey Library at Texas Women’s University.
The school is home to one of the largest cookbook collections in the world, boasting more than 29,500 cookbooks, over 20,000 pamphlets, and over 2,500 international menus.
Some of these items even date back to 1624.
Kimberly Johnson, assistant Dean of Special Collections Archives at TWU, told NBC DFW, “It really is art and it really is history. It tells about a time period and people and our way of life and culture. It's a retrospect in social history.
“They get to tell you about community. They tell you about history. We all have to eat. So it's one thing that we all share that's in common. So we get to see those commonalities through our cookbooks.”
You can see the collection for yourself at 307 Administration Drive in Denton, Texas, or you can visit the school’s digital library HERE.
