You can gamble on anything these days, including how much weather we are going to see this week.
On the sports betting website Kalshi, nearly $400,000 has been wagered on just how much snow is going to fall in Dallas this month.
Now we don’t know if this bet is accounting for the amount of sleet that falls but so far, $399,872 has been wagered, with 98% of gamblers believing, at the very least, Dallas will see at least 0.5 inches of snow during this storm.
So far, more than 2.0 inches of snow has fallen at DFW Airport, so we’re hoping everyone took the over on that bet.
It seems the precipitation has stopped for Dallas, but the official count ends at the end of the month.
According to WFAA, Kalshi will use data from the National Weather Service to determine the actual amount of snowfall.
