Video games are not just a hobby anymore, they’re a viable career path that can earn hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars.
Try telling someone who never made it past Pong that’s a reality now.
One of the biggest games in the world is Fortnite, and a professional team and Mike and Ike have partnered for their “We Got’chew” campaign, which features bootcamps to help guide amateur Fortnite players to be the best they can be.
One of those bootcamps is in North Texas, on the campus of the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson.
According to CW33, the multi-day event began on August 8 at the Comet LANding Center and had professionals from the Dignitas Fortnite team providing coaching “in a structured learning environment.”
Previously, UTD partnered with Dignitas and Epic Games to host the first event of the Fortnite Pro-Am Creator Series 2026, where content creators were paired with professional players to compete in a seven game Fortnite Reload tournament with a prize of $50,000 on the line.
