Foo Fighters are officially back on the road and are ready to show fans they still got it. The band took the Bonnaroo stage over the weekend, and while their set was full of classics, it was a surprise cover that had many fans excited. During the performance the band briefly covered the Beastie Boys, showing off their own rendition of ‘Sabotage.’ The video includes NSFW language.
On Sunday, Foo Fighters helped close out Bonnaroo as the final band to take the stage. During the 19 song set, the band played hits, had guest appearances and even paid tribute to late drummer Taylor Hawkins. However, one of the biggest surprises came when the band started playing Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’ in between songs.
“Next year, we’ll come back to Bonnaroo, we’ll play at the f***ing ‘Wha-What Stage’ and we’ll do a whole Beastie Boys set, how about that?” Grohl joked with the crowd. According to Consequence, the cover is part of a medley the band has been performing since going back on the road. Maybe a rap album is in Dave Grohl’s future.
