2020 was full of strange stories, but one of the more bizarre stories from the year came from California; where on multiple occasions a man was spotted flying through the sky using a jet pack. Now, the mystery aeronaut has been captured on video, after a pilot spotted the man flying above Los Angeles. Video of “Jetpack man” was recently shared on the Sling Pilot Academy, a local aviation school’s Instagram account.
While not much is still known about the unidentified flying man, video of his jetpack flight, 3,000 ft above Palos Verdes near Catalina Island, was recently shared online and quickly went viral. “The video appears to show a jet pack, but it could also be a drone or some other object. If it is a ‘guy in a jet pack’ then it remains to be seen whether it is a legal test flight (jet packs are real - there is a manufacturer near Los Angeles) or related to the jet pack sightings near LAX recently that caused disruptions to air traffic,” the school said.
Twice this year the man was spotted flying above Los Angeles using a jetpack. Hopefully more footage is to come, and maybe one day he will share his jetpack secrets.
