A YouTuber known for creating mashups has gone viral once again, this time combining Van Halen with Hank Williams. Now, the video has many wondering why Van Halen never went country.
In the video that has since gone viral, video editor Bill McClintock takes Van Halen’s ‘Jump’ and combines it with Hank Williams' ‘Your Cheatin' Heart.’ Williams’ music and the Van Halen lyrics surprisingly go together well, as the video uses clips from both music videos to piece together the two songs. According to Boing Boing, the video has been viewed over 150,000 times.
Many fans were surprised how much they enjoyed the mashup; with some Van Halen fans saying this song made them fans of country music, and a few country fans claiming they now like Van Halen for the first time in their life. While this combination can’t happen in real life, luckily the internet made it happen. Maybe this will even lead to a collaboration between Hank Williams Jr. and Wolfgang Van Halen in the future.
