No matter the time of year, North Texas is always in danger of the appearance of severe weather.

The weather that moved across the state early Monday morning wasn't only severe, it was record-breaking!

According to NBC DFW, at 4:39am Monday August 4, DFW Airport recorded wind gusts of 89 mph, higher than the previous record of 85 mph that led to the crash of Delta Air Lines Flight 191 in 1985.

Both events were due to microbursts where wind speeds can reach up to 100 mph, or even 150 mph.
