Any time a big name celebrity comes to town, it’s guaranteed to create some excitement all throughout the metroplex. The latest occurrence was over the weekend, when Will Ferrell decided to roll through town and take on an iconic Texas food challenge. The actor was in town filming a documentary, and brought cameras along as he attempted The Big Texan Steak Ranch & Brewery’s 72oz steak challenge.
On Saturday, customers at The Big Texan Steak Ranch & Brewery in Amarillo got a surprise that definitely wasn’t on the menu, as actor Will Ferrell stopped by for some food. Ferrell, who was dressed as Sherlock Holmes during his appearance, was in town filming a “road trip documentary,” according to KSAT. The restaurant confirmed his appearance in a Facebook post that has since gone viral.
A large crowd followed the actor as he visited a few other businesses as well while in Amarillo. It is unknown if his steak challenge attempt will be in the documentary. Hopefully some local faces make an appearance once it finally premieres.
