The internet is full of different musicians covering the Toto song ‘Africa.’ From beloved groups like Weezer, to kids performing the song a cappella while doing each part by themselves, plenty have attempted to go viral with their own version of the beloved song from the 80’s. Now, the latest one to go viral comes from a group of young musicians who were forced to record their parts alone at home, yet were still able to pull off an impressive cover.
This week, members of The Southeastern Massachusetts Youth Orchestras went viral with their at home version of Toto’s ‘Africa.’ Each musician performed their parts alone, and then sent it in to be edited and mixed, according to South Coast Today. “Even though we’re separate we can still make music together,” said conductor Tobias Monte.
There are 40 musicians total in the video, including five faculty members. Many online were impressed by the latest cover of the beloved Toto song. Hopefully more and more musicians continue to share their versions of the song.
