“Her elegance, grace, beauty and talent made this world a better place,” the Nelson family said in a statement. “She was the first member of Willie’s band, as his pianist and singer. Our hearts are broken and she will be deeply missed.”

Fans and artists filled Nelson’s Instagram comments with love and support as well as fond memories with Bobbie.

“Bobbie made my 14 year old dreams come true at farm aid in Columbus Ohio many years ago by inviting me backstage with an all access pass to enjoy the love, light and music,” wrote one fan. “That moment shaped my love for music for all time. Rest In Peace, Bobbie, you were and are one of the best.”

The Nelson family concluded, “We are so lucky to have had her in our lives. Please keep her family in your thoughts and give them the privacy they need at this time.”
