PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The number of COVID-19 cases in Allegheny County is now at 947.
That's 22 more cases than on Thursday, one more than the number of cases reported on Wednesday.
Five additional confirmed deaths brings the county's total to 43 lives lost due to COIVD-19.
The number of total cases in Allegheny County this was was 71, that's half the number of cases from last week.
The age breakdown:
00-04 – 2 (less than 1%)05-12 – 4 (less than 1%)13-18 – 10 (1%)19-24 – 74 (8%)25-49 – 351 (37%)50-64 – 264 (28%)65 + -- 242 (26%)The gender of those with COVID-19 are listed below:Female – 500 (53%)Male – 447 (47%)
176 people have been hospitalized, past or present. That's an increase of 14 compared to Thursday.
"The best way to beat the coronavirus is to stop its spread. You can help stop the spread of the virus by washing your hands and cleaning frequently touched surfaces often, staying home as much as possible and keeping 6 feet away from people and wearing a mask if you do go out in public," the county said in a release.
