PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The Pittsburgh area is under a High Wind Watch that began at 7 a.m. Sunday morning and lasts until 7 a.m. Monday morning, causing power outages across the area.
West Penn Power reported over 23,000 customers were without power Sunday afternoon, and Duquesne Light Company reported over 19,000 customers were without power.
DLC is activating its storm response plan by increasing lineworkers, tree clearance personnel, and 24-hour operations and call center staff to help with restoration efforts. At this time, approximately 19,000 customers are without power.
