At least 3 dead, multiple people injured in shooting near Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa

There are at least three people dead and multiple people have been injured from a shooting at a medical building nearby the Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, according to the Tulsa Police Department.

The Tulsa Police Department posted on Facebook at 5:57 p.m. CT that the active shooter was down, and to avoid the area. Authorities updated their post at 6:24 p.m. and confirmed "4 casualties, including the shooter."

"Earlier this afternoon, we responded to a call about a man armed with a rifle at the Natalie Building at St. Francis Hospital. This turned into an active shooter situation," Tulsa Police Department said.

"At this point, we can confirm the shooter is down at this time. Officers are currently going through every room in the building checking for additional threats. We know there are multiple injuries, and potentially multiple casualties."

Police officers are still actively clearing the building.

Tulsa Police Department Chief Wendell Franklin tweeted to avoid the hospital near 61st and Yale.

Police asked people in the area to go to the Memorial High School near LaFortune Park to reunite with family members and friends.

Tulsa City Councilman Jayme Fowler told KOTV that the suspected gunman was targeting a specific doctor before he killed at least three people and then himself, according to KOTV's Shannon Rousseau.
