Some Carnegie Mellon University students reportedly became sick after eating at an on-campus eatery.

Allegheny County food safety inspectors last week found violations at Stack'd Underground, an eatery located in the basement of the Morewood Gardens residence hall.

The report indicted several ‘high-risk” violations including homemade buffalo sauce found sitting at an unsafe temperature. That sauce was thrown away voluntarily.

Another one included an employee changing gloves after changing jobs and not washing their hands.

Other high-risk violations included food debris observed, pink biofilm seen in an ice machine and an ice wand was stored on the floor of a freezer.

The university said “numerous” students were sickened. Campus officials say immediate corrective actions were taken and confirmed a return inspection.

Only one low-risk violation was found upon reinspection.
