Koby Lee Francis, the man accused of shooting a McKeesport Police officer and fleeing to West Virginia will be in court today for an extradition hearing.
Authorities believe Francis got a ride across the state line the day after he allegedly shot officer Jerry Athans.
If granted extradition, Francis could return this week.
Francis was taken into police custody on Sunday, December 20 for an alleged violation of a Protection From Abuse Order.
He was transported to the police station.
It was at there, when an officer opened the door to take Francis out of the vehicle that police say Francis, who had a gun, opened fire, shooting the officer in the neck and torso three times. The officer then returned fire.
A reward for information leading to the location of Francis was offered by law enforcement and a local business man.
