The U.S. Department of Labor says from November 2020 to November 2021, the price of meat as a whole went up 16-percent.
Frank Dentici, with Kuhn's Market, said you've probably noticed at the checkout line.
"We hold back as much as we can. There's a lot of things that we just absorb, because sometimes we know that the market is going to go back down. But, when we see that market not come back down, we do make those adjustments when necessary," said Dentici.
He also said the cost of product transportation, supplier staffing shortages and high demand are mostly to blame.
