Multiple arrests on drug and gun charges after Clairton street violence

Police ended up arresting four men and referring a teenager to the juvenile criminal justice system following a shooting in Clairton Thursday afternoon.

According to Allegheny County Police, Clairton Police responded to the shooting on Park Avenue just after 1pm on Thursday.


They found a 25-year-old man who was injured when he fell while being fired upon. Two juveniles who were running from the scene were detained by officers. Police nobody was hit by the gun shots.

Clairton Police requested assistance from County Police.

While investigating, detectives from Allegheny County's Violent Cries and Firearms division learned that a 14-year-old was allegedly the one doing the shooting. The teen was reportedly also observed trying to get rid of heroin.

Police made a criminal referral through the juvenile justice system against the teen that alleges aggravated assault, firearms and drug offenses.

VCF Detectives also noticed a wanted felon among a group of men sitting in a car on Marion Avenue.

Police say the man fled from detectives as they approached. They were able to apprehend the man, identified as 24-year-old Jameil Greene of Clairton. Police say Greene was carrying a gun while running and that gun  was previously reported stolen.

The other three men in the car were all observed with guns, according to police. In addition, detectives found quantities of marijuana, oxycontin, fentanyl and heroin in their possession at a total value of about $10,000.

In addition to Greene, 24-year-old Tyrieke Hammonds of Clairton, 20-year-old Deonte Reddick of Clairton and 20-year-old Hazeon Kidd of East Liberty were all charged with firearms and drug violations in federal court.
