Today marks one year since Lucky the dog was taken away from his beloved owner in an East Huntingdon business during a carjacking.
10-year-old Lucky was in 87-year-old Willard Martz’s 2016 silver Focus when police say Kenneth Crider of Poolsville, Maryland drove off.
Crider was later caught in North Carolina and last month, was sentenced to 14 months to 10 years in prison.
But the search for Lucky continues and the family and volunteers are not giving up hope with over 14,000 people continuing the search or helping in any way they can.
Tracy Ruffner, who runs the Bring Lucky HOME to PA Facebook page says they believe Lucky is currently with a home that doesn’t know he was missing.
Ruffner tells KDKA Radio they follow every lead and “Mr. Martz missing Lucky dearly and his hope is that someone is taking care of him.”
Take a good look at Lucky, he is looks like a dog you or someone you know has acquired in the past year, to contact them at letsfindlucky@gmail.com.
Ruffner adds that Lucky doesn’t look the same in any picture. Lucky is now 11-years-old and was 60-pounds when he was taken. He is an Airedale terrier mix and he IS microchipped.

“He could be with a family, in a homeless encampment, a rural area,” said Ruffner, adding that for anyone worried about getting into trouble “no questions will be asked. We just want him home and to know he’s okay.”
