A North Fayette woman is charged with six felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and dozens of misdemeanor counts of animal neglect.
Nearly 30 dachshunds were rescued from Audrey Stevenson's home last month.
Neighbors concerned about the dogs called authorities.
Humane Animal Rescue says the dachshunds were malnourished, had untreated dental disease and infections and were living in filth.
One dog was dead. Stevenson turned herself in.
She has a preliminary hearing set for August 28.
The Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh has given the dogs medical examinations and are being treated and getting the necessary nutrition.
HARP will take care of the dogs as the case moves forward.

HARP says they receive about 2,000 calls of possible animal cruelty a year.
While the dachshunds are currently not up for adoption, due to the legal case, other pets are available for adoption here.
