Getting extra legroom on a flight came at a sky-high cost for a man in Australia.

Aussie comedian Dave O'Neil wanted to get the added comfort on a Qantas airline flight from Melbourne to Perth.

He tried booking the upgrade using the airline’s app which indicated it would cost $987,999,999.00 in Australian dollars. The amount comes to around $770 million US dollars, according to Fox News. Makes flying private seem downright pedestrian!

Upon noticing the astronomical fee, O’Neil took to social media to share his bewilderment.

"Hey, @Qantas all I wanted was extra legroom on my flight to Perth, very happy to pay for it but this seems a bit expensive," he captioned the tweet and included a screenshot of the charge.

While the tweet soon went viral, it also got the attention of Qantas.

“Hmmm...does look slightly over the normal price,” read the response from the airline’s official Twitter account. “Would love to take a look at it Dave. Please DM us the booking reference and we'll take a look.”

The exorbitant fee remained on the Qantas booking app for a few days, but the charge eventually went through at $70, the normal cost for the legroom upgrade.

Qantas is investigating what caused the glitch on the app.

"While we know that customers really value extra leg room, the price displayed was definitely a bit of a stretch," an airline spokesperson told the Australian outlet Traveller.

“We can confirm the passenger was charged the correct amount of $70 per sector for the extra legroom and we’re investigating what caused the incorrect amount to be displayed.”

O’Neill maintained a positive outlook on the entire situation and found humor in the viral response.

"It was hilarious, people were asking if I was buying the airline," he told the outlet.
