A North Texas-based home security company is investigating a cyberattack after hackers gained unauthorized access to a portion of its computer network and threatened to release stolen data.

Brinks Home, headquartered in Farmers Branch, discovered the breach Monday and immediately launched an investigation alongside outside cybersecurity experts.

The company said that its core alarm monitoring and security services remain fully operational and unaffected by the incident.

While Brinks Home reported there is currently no evidence that personal or confidential information has been compromised, the attackers claim to have stolen data and are threatening to release it publicly.

The identity of the hackers and the nature of their demands have not yet been disclosed.
