Some Dallas firefighters are returning home after two weeks on the California firelines.

The team worked in some of the most rugged conditions in the hills and gullies of Pacific Palisades where 37 square miles were charred over.

"It was challenging for them, of course traveling across multiple states to get help out in California and be able to help on those wildfires is challenging in itself," says Dallas Interim Assistant Fire Chief Scott Pacot.

Pacot goes on to say the crew worked long hours in a 24-hour on, 24-hour off, rotation. They'll have a little time to rest up now before returning to their normal shifts.
