PINE BLUFF, ARK. (1080 KRLD) - She was as perfect as perfect can be.

"This has never happened to me before," says Hope Trautwein, a senior pitcher on the UNT Mean Green softball team.

In fact, it had never happened to anyone before in NCAA Division I softball history -- a perfect game while striking out every batter faced.

Trautwein was so dominant against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday that her seven fielders could have been having a picnic in the outfield while she and her catcher did all the work.

Trautwein faced 21 batters in the seven-inning game and struck out each and every one of them en route to a 3-0 win.

It was the first game of a doubleheader in Pine Bluff; the Mean Green took the second game as well.

The aftermath, she says, has been surreal.

"I've had interviews, people texting me, people calling me. My phone's been blowing up 24/7, but it's been amazing at the same time."

Prior to the game, Trautwein had no idea that it would be one for the record books.

"Going into warm ups, (it) could have been any other day, any other game," Trautwein tells KRLD. "I had no idea that this was just going to be an amazing game like this."

Incredibly, this was not Trautwein's first 21-strikeout game of the season.

On Feb. 13, Trautwein struck out 21 against Southeastern Louisiana, but she gave up five hits and two runs in the Mean Green's 6-2 win.
