Forney police are still looking for the driver of the car who left the scene of an accident where a vehicle smashed into a restaurant on Highway 80 Sunday evening.
It was just after 7 p.m. when diners at Tokyo Harbor were shocked as a vehicle came smashing through the plate glass storefront right into the dining room and caused several injuries. One victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Others' injuries were considered minor.
Investigators believe the driver meant to hit the brake but stepped on the gas by mistake. Forney police believe some people were hurt but left the scene before police and paramedics arrived.
They have not said if they believe they were patrons or, perhaps, were occupants in the vehicle.
