A woman is dead after an hours-long standoff that shut down both directions of Interstate 20 southeast of Dallas on Monday.
Police say the woman had pulled over and was holding a gun to her head, threatening suicide, prompting officers to close the highway and bring in crisis negotiators.
Traffic was stopped for several hours as law enforcement attempted to de-escalate the situation. Authorities later confirmed that the woman took her own life.
