You may not be able to make a splash this year in one of Texas's most popular warm-weather destinations.

Jacobs Well in the Texas Hill Country draws hundreds of visitors every year who are eager to take a dip in the natural swimming hole. But those delicious year round 68 degree waters are off limits.

With continued drought in parts of central Texas water levels at Jacobs Well just aren't high enough to allow safe swimming, yet.

Hays County Parks broke the news on their Facebook page, quickly adding the well is still open for viewing and the park still open for hiking.

The swimming hole also shut down last summer after running dry for just the fifth time in over a hundred years.

Jacob’s Well is the second-largest fully submerged cave in Texas. Hays County Parks promised to update would be visitors if conditions should change for the better.
