From the waters of Lake Tawakoni to being immortalized in the record books, two fishermen made the catch of a lifetime that could potentially leave them in Texas fishing lore.

Drew Moore and Justin White were fishing at Lake Tawakoni, located east of Dallas, over the weekend when they wrangled in a big one.

The flathead catfish the pair secured weighed in at 98.7 pounds, which would be a record considering the men caught the fish while noodling.

Noodling is a method of fishing that involved pulling a catfish out of the water using nothing but your hands.  The 98.7-pound catfish stands to be the largest catfish ever caught in Texas by noodling!

According to Field & Stream, in 2021 an Oklahoma man noodled a 106-pound catfish in Texas, but it was released before being weighed on an official scale.
