The Padres made everyone forget about their offensive struggles for at least one night, as they piled up 10 runs on 13 hits against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night. Fernando Tatis Jr., Jackson Merrill, Luis Campusano and Miguel Andujar all had multiple hits, and they were well-timed, with the team going 6-13 with runners in scoring position. The Padres broke the game wide open in the 6th inning when they scored four runs, punctuated by Luis Campusano blasting his 4th home run of the season in his fifth game since returning from a long stint on the injured list. On the pitching side, Michael King delivered his second straight quality start, and with the big cushion the Padres built, were able to rest their high-leverage relievers as well. It was about as strong of a performance as Craig Stammen could have hoped for as the team tries to claw their way back into playoff contention.
