The Padres tough road trip carried over to the homestand, as the Diamondbacks jumped all over Walker Buehler, tallying 7 earned runs in through the first four innings. The Padres committed two errors in the top of the first inning, including an errant pickoff throw by Buehler, allowing two runs to cross home plate. The Diamondbacks pushed four more runs across in the 3rd inning with the big blow coming on a 3-run homer by Max Kepler. Gerardo Perdomo added a solo shot in the 4th and Nolan Arenado added a solo blast of his own in the 6th, while the Padres were shut out without drawing a walk or getting an extra base hit while striking out 11 times. The Padres will face Zac Gallen on Tuesday while German Marquez will start for the Padres.
