Former All-Pro cornerback and punt returner Desmond King is joining the Houston Texans.
King is signing a one-year, $3.5 million, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told reporters Thursday.
King, 26, last played for the Tennessee Titans after being traded from the Los Angeles Chargers in November 2020.
The Chargers selected King in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He became an All-Pro in 2018, earning first-team honors as a defensive back and second-team honors as a punt returner.
Some of his highlights from that season include intercepting then-rookie Baker Mayfield twice in a game, and also picking off Russell Wilson.
Last season, in Week 9 with the Titans against the Bears, King recovered a David Montgomery fumble forced by Jeffery Simmons and returned it 63 yards for a touchdown.
King adds much needed depth to the Texans' cornerback position. They also signed cornerback Terrance Mitchell and brought back Vernon Hargreaves on a one-year deal.
