One of the many things I love about my job is getting to hear about your personal experiences with your teams. The elation, the heartbreak, and everything in between. Let's face it; Gamecocks Nation has had a rough go of it lately. Recently, I asked you through our show and social media channels "What's the hardest thing about being a Gamecocks fan?"
And, well. Let's just say your answers did not disappoint. On some of these, don't shoot the messenger. I merely collected the answers (jokes), and pass them on to you.
Lonzo: "Being a Gamecock fan is like being constipated. You know there's a blockage there somewhere, but you don't know what to do about it."
Anna Galloway Catron: "
Having to look for a Father’s Day gift for Dabo ever year!
Getting ready to go to a Clemson game with Dabo on “bring your daughter to work day”
Thinking you have a chance EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR
Watching your state rival in the playoffs and championship game every year while you sit at home.
Listening to grown men scream “Go Cocks”
I can keep going!"
Lance Burns: "The hardest part would have to be having to try an explain to your children why the family team is the Gamecocks. Well that or trying to explain how their mom is also considered their aunt."
Branden Brotherton: "Nothing’s really hard about being a Gamecock fan anymore because I’ve learned to expect the least amount of success out of them, so when they beat the Auburns of the world, it’s nice, but when they lose to the beatable LSUs, it’s no surprise."
Greg Bowen: "Knowing you have the funds and that the administration with a National Championship coach running it chooses not to spend the money and make this program what it could be. Always settling for the middle of the road or less."
John McClain: "Waiting until next year knowing next year will never come. #Losers"
Maddog: "Being a Gamecock fan is like being sneezed on during Covid." This answer won Maddog the right to host a segment of Offsides with Marc Ryan Wednesday, 11/4, at 4:55pm.
Shane Ward: "Getting overly excited about every single 1st down."
Keith Presley: "Yelling "Go cocks" and being proud of it haha."
Brian Sisk: "Seeing Muschamp’s buyout."
Tracy Davis: Having to find Dabo a fathers day card and present every year."
Mike Robinson: "Knowing that will muchamp is still the head coach."
All I can say is y'all slayed this one. And I'm still laughing. Great work. - Marc
