Clemson Baseball was able to overcome an early deficit to get a win over Virginia Tech in their ACC Tournament opener Wednesday night. Clemson got off to a slow start, as Virginia Tech scored one in the 1st, one in the 2nd and three in in the 4th. Clemson got one in the 2nd and two in the 3rd and trailed 5-3 after 5 innings.

The Tigers exploded for a 7 spot in the 6th inning, thanks in large part to a Grand Slam homer by Caden Grice. It was one of two hits on the day for Grice. Clemson's pitching staff would hold VT scoreless the rest of the way. Clemson would add one run in the 8th and three in the 9th to win 14-5.

B.J. Bailey was the winning pitcher working 1 and 2/3 innings of scoreless ball on in relief. Billy Amick and Riley Bertram both had three hits each for Clemson.

The Tigers face Boston College on Friday at 11AM. A win over the Eagles would put Clemson in the single elimination Semifinal Round on Saturday. The Tigers are looking for their 1st ACC Tournament Title since 2016. Clemson has been red hot late in the season, they are 18-1 in their last 19 games.
