ACC Welcomes Western Wing Trio Of Schools

The Atlantic Coast Conference now welcomes in a western wing of new schools. The ACC announced Monday that new additions Cal, Stanford and SMU will being competing in the league, this fall.

SMU became an official member today (July 1st), Stanford and Cal become officials on August 2nd. ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips called the trio of schools "prestigious institutions". Phillips added that the move is a momentous occasion for the ACC.

In Football this fall, Clemson will host Stanford September 28th. There are a few other notable ACC teams from the Carolinas who will square off with the new editions. SMU Travels to Duke, October 26th. NC State is at Cal October 19th and Cal travels to Wake Forest, November 8th.
