An Anderson County High School Football standout is garnering well earned hardware. BHP Junior Running Back Marquise Henderson has been named the 2023 Red Zone Star Of The Year by WSPA-TV.
Henderson had a monster season setting a school record with over 2,300 rushing yards and more than 35 total TD's. Henderson edged Westside QB Cutter Woods by one vote to win the award.
Other candidates included Hillcrest WR Avery McFadden, JL Mann's Mike McClellan, Greenville High WR MJ Bennett, Hanna's KD Patterson and Broome Sophomore RB Jaylen McGill.
Henderson led BHP to a 13-1 record, a region title and an appearance in the 3A Upper State Title Game, before the Bears were edged by eventual State Champs, Daniel.
