This weekend marks the renewal of a classic rivalry in the Upstate and SoCon. Furman and Wofford will meet for the 95th time overall Saturday in "Sparkle City". It's a rivalry that dates all the way back to 1889.

Both teams come into this one needing a win, as they are both looking for their 1st conference win. Furman is 2-2 on the season, but has dropped their last two. The Paladins are coming off a bye week and look to make strides offensively. Furman has scored a combined 10 points in their last two games, losses at N.C. State and a home defeat to Mercer. In the Mercer game, Furman threw four interceptions and was held to just a field goal.

The Terriers are 1-3 on the season and have dropped three straight. Wofford's offensive issues stem from being one dimensional. While the run is their "bread and butter", they have had virtually no balance, due to their passing game woes. The Terriers have thrown just one TD pass thus far this season, they also are converting just 27% of their 3rd down attempts.

One of Furman's strengths has been the depth and talent of its defensive front 7. They will be tested by a Wofford run game that features four players averaging five or more yards per carry.

While Furman leads the all time series 54-33-7 , Wofford has had the advantage in recent years winning five of the last six meetings. Saturday's game is set to kick at 1:30, you can hear all the action on ESPN Upstate.
