Braves' playoff hopes unrealistic after falling to 11 games under .500

It has seemed like the Atlanta Braves’ 2025 season has hit rock bottom a few times already, but it reached a new low over the weekend as the Braves were swept by the Baltimore Orioles and fell to a season low 11 games under .500. Earlier today The Morning Shift explained why this sweep was the final blow to Atlanta’s postseason hopes.

“The reality was is that Chris Sale was the moment that you knew it was on life support and the death rattle was [Spencer] Schwellenbach going down.” Beau Morgan said

Mike Johnson said “this ship has sailed” when talking about the Braves’ season and their playoff hopes.

Obviously the Braves aren’t mathematically out of anything, but with their starting pitching rotation being decimated until September, and their offense being consistently inconsistent all signs point to the Braves missing the postseason for the first time since 2017.
