The Atlanta Braves are World Series Champions for the first time in over 2 decades. The Braves smashed Houston on Tuesday night, 7-0 to take Game 6 and the title. 1995 was the last time Atlanta won it all, I was a kid growing up here in the Upstate then, so it's been a long wait for Braves fans.

Once Atlanta settled in on Tuesday night they caught fire and seized momentum. It was no doubt as the game wore on this was Atlanta's night and would be the night they would take home the hardware. "Soler Power" is how the Braves struck first, Jorge Soler blasted a 3 run homer in the 3rd. He crushed a ball to left that went all the way out of the stadium. That put the Braves up 3-0 they would never look back.

Atlanta then took a commanding 6-0 lead in the 5th, as they put up a 3 spot. Dansby Swanson belted a two run blast and Freddie Freeman had an RBI double to score Soler who walked. Max Fried was at his best on the hill in the series clincher. Fried got the win going 6 scoreless innings, scattering four hits, and striking out 6.

The Braves added one for insurance purposes in the 7th to make the final margin. Atlanta had 7 hits, not a crazy amount but they made the most of those hits. Three of them were homers with runners and drove in five runs with two outs.

So now fans who have felt the disappointment of the streak of 26 years of no championships have the feeling again. This World Series will be one that lives on as a lifelong memory for Atlanta Braves fans. It also seems to be ironic that the Braves got hot after the All-Star break and won the World Series after MLB pulled the All-Star game. For the 1st time in 26 years, The Braves have brought home the "Big Gold Trophy".
