Braves win 5th straight N.L. East Division Title

The Atlanta Braves will defend their World Championship in the playoffs after clinching the division. It's the 5th straight N.L. East Title for the Braves. They wrapped up the Division by beating the Miami Marlins 2-1 Tuesday night.

The Braves got one in the 2nd, on a Ronald Acuna Jr. single to center that scored Orlando Arcia. The Marlins tied with a solo homer to left field from Jesus Sanchez. The Braves got the go ahead run in the 5th on an RBI infield single from DH William Contreras that scored Travis D'Arnaud.

Jake Ordizzi got the win on the hill for the Braves. He went 5 innings giving up just one run, on two hits while striking out 7. Four Braves relivers worked one inning each, allowing just two more hits combined. Kenley Jansen came in to and worked the 9th, he struck out two of the three batters he faced. Jansen got the Marlins in order in the final frame to get his 41st save of the season.

The victory puts Atlanta over the 100 win mark for the season. The Braves will have home field advantage in their 1st playoff series. They will host the winner of the Wild Card Round between Phillies and Cardinals. The Braves will open the series with the winner of that match up on October 11th.
