CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns placed defensive end Olivier Vernon and interior offensive lineman Nick Harris on injured reserve Tuesday.
Vernon suffered a ruptured Achilles in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 24-22 win over the Steelers that clinched Cleveland’s first playoff berth since 2002.
Harris suffered a knee injury during a 23-16 loss to the Jets on Dec. 27.
Vernon restructured the final year of his contract prior to the season and can be a free agent in March. He totaled nine sacks – five of them in the final five weeks of the season along with 36 tackles, a forced fumble, fumble recovery and safety in 13 games, 12 starts.
Harris, a fifth-round draft pick, appeared in 12 games with one start at right guard during his rookie campaign.
