Clemson Basketball got a milestone win Tuesday night on Tobacco Road. The Tigers led wire to wire and downed 3rd ranked North Carolina 80-76 in Chapel Hill.
Clemson opened the game on a 12-2 run, they led by as many as 16 in the 1st half and took a 43-34 lead at the break. North Carolina would storm back in the 2nd half and cut the lead to 72-70 with 2:25 remaining.
Clemson then closed the game knocking down a three with 2:08 left and went 5 of 6 from the foul line in the final 1:45. The Tigers got a game high 25 from the Upstate's own PJ Hall. Joe Girard III added 21 on five made three's and Ian Schiefflin had a double-double of 14 points and 11 boards.
It's just the program's 2nd win all time in Chapel Hill. Clemson is 15-7 overall and 5-6 in ACC play. They travel to take on Syracuse Saturday at noon.
