Clemson claims Regional with three straight wins

Clemson baseball advanced to their 1st Super Regional appearance in nearly 15 years after an undefeated performance in their home regional over the weekend.

Clemson clipped underdog High Point scoring in the 9th inning to win 4-3. More late game heroics propelled Clemson to a 4-3 win over in-state foe Coastal Carolina on Saturday.

The Tigers won the Clemson Regional with a 12-5 victory over Coastal Carolina on Sunday. The Tigers will host the winner of the Stillwater, Oklahoma Regional in a best 2-of-3 Super Regional Series this weekend.

It'll marks Clemson's 1st appearance in the Super Regionals since 2010. It's the first time Clemson has won a Regional in three straight games since 2009.

Clemson has been to the Super Regional is 4-5 (not overall per game record, but the 4-5 record reflects the final outcome of those series) in the Super Regionals in 9 previous appearances.

Two more wins would put Clemson in the College World Series for the 1st time in 14 years.
