Clemson Basketball couldn't overcome a slow start at home against Virginia over the weekend. The Tigers fell just short of a comeback win over the Cavaliers on Saturday at Littlejohn.
Clemson scored just 26 1st half points and trailed by 8 at the break. The Tigers got going after the break scoring 39 in the 2nd half. Clemson fell 66-65 they trailed 64-59 with less than 2 minutes left.
Made free throws and defensive stops gave Clemson a chance to win the game late. However, Senior Forward Jack Clark missed on a three point try just before the buzzer.
The Tigers shot just 36% from the floor. Virginia's bench outscored Clemson's 21-5. The Tigers had four in double figures with Upstate native PJ Hall led the way with a game high 19.
The Tigers are now 14-7 overall. They are back in action Tuesday night in Chapel Hill when they travel to take on 3rd ranked North Carolina.
