A Basketball Coach in the Carolinas is trading the mountains for the beach. Coastal Carolina has announced the hiring of Justin Gray as their New Head Men's Basketball Coach.
Gray played at Wake Forest and then spent more than 10 seasons playing professionally, overseas. After his playing days, he was hired as an Assistant Coach at Winthrop, before being named Head Coach Justin Gray.
He spent three seasons in Cullowhee, NC and has led Western Carolina to two top four finishes in the SoCon, the last two seasons. That included a 22-9 year this season, which is the most single season wins for the program since the 2009-2010 season.
Gray takes over at Coastal Carolina for legendary Coach Cliff Ellis, who retired as the winningest active coach in Division-I Basketball. Gray is set to be introduced at a press conference at Coastal, Thursday afternoon.
