Sidney Crosby has been the face of the NHL for so long they might as well just call it the National Crosby League.
Some player like Edmonton’s Connor McDavid have threatened Sid for the top spot, but until he decides to hang up his skates, it’s Crosby’s league.
That point was proven once again as the NHL revealed that Crosby had the top-selling jersey in the NHL last year on NHLShop.com
Former Penguin and current Las Vegas Golden Knights’ goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was 5th.
The other top selling jerseys were
2. Connor McDavid
3. Alex Ovechkin
4. Auston Matthews
6. Nathan MacKinnon
7. Patrick Kane
8. David Pastrnak
9. Artemi Panarin
10. Elias Pettersson.
Crosby scored his first goal of the year Wednesday night in Pittsburgh 6-3 opening loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.
