D-I QB prospect leaves Gaffney, decommits from Arkansas

2026 3 Star QB Prospect (Per 247Sports) Jayvon Gilmore has left Gaffney High School and has also decommitted from Arkansas. WSPA reports that Gaffney Coach Donnie Littlejohn confirmed that Gilmore un-enrolled at Gaffney earlier this week.

Their report also stated that Littlejohn said the school had received a request for Gilmore's transcripts from another school. The State Newspaper has reported that Gilmore is expected to transfer to Ridge View High School in Columbia. He was at Ben Lippen in Columbia prior to transferring to Gaffney.

On Thursday, the Arkansas Football program confirmed that they have agreed to part ways with Gilmore and will look to replace him with another QB in this class. Gilmore had committed to Arkansas last year.

The move to transfer will mean Gilmore will be at his 3rd high school in as many years. The decision came after Gilmore was embroiled in a QB battle at Gaffney with Banks Bouton.

According to 247 Sports Gilmore holds offers from Arizona, Boston College, NC State, GA Tech, Louisville, North Carolina, Texas A&M, East Carolina, Charlotte and several others.
