
The defense led the way for Furman in their win over East Tennessee State that now makes six straight victories for the Paladins.
The Paladins got a 16-8 home win Saturday over ETSU to stay unbeaten in SoCon play. Furman got two 1st quarter field goals from Ian Williams, one from 23 yards and the other from 52 yards, to lead 6-0 at the half.
Furman got another field goal in the 3rd and scored on a Tyler Huff TD pass to Josh Harris to take a 16-0 lead after three quarters.
East Tennessee got a blocked punt and returned it for a TD early in the 4th, they would get the two point conversion. Furman's defense shined in the win, they did not allow a TD on the day. They also got three interceptions in the game. The Paladins then forced a punt and a turnover on downs to preserve the 16-8 win.
Furman is now 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in Southern Conference play. They travel to Chattanooga Saturday for a 1:30 PM kickoff. A win would give Furman the inside track for the SoCon Title.
