The process continues to move forward for a brand new baseball stadium in the Upstate. Design plans for the new ballpark in Downtown Spartanburg have been approved.
The new stadium will seat 3,500 people and will be on a property that spans more than 14 acres. The review board did suggest upgrades for the streetscape near the stadium.
The new ballpark is set to open in April of next year. The new stadium is part of a larger development in Spartanburg's Downtown area.
