
Duke took advantage of a number of Clemson mistakes Monday night to get their 1st win over a top 10 ranked opponent in more than thirty years.
Clemson had three turnovers and two missed field goals on the night in Durham. Duke scored 14 points off of Tiger Turnovers in their 28-7 win over 9th ranked Clemson. Duke was also two for two on field goal tries.
The Tigers outgained Duke 422 to 374 in total yards and had 19 1st downs to Duke's 17. Clemson was able to move the ball down the field but came up empty on a number of long offensive drives.
Clemson QB Cade Klubnik was 27 of 43 passing for 209 yards, a TD and an interception. Will Shipley had 17 carries for a 114 yards, he also scored Clemson's lone TD on the night, on a 2 yard TD catch.
Duke's Mike Elko becomes the 1st Duke Coach to lead the Blue Devils to a win over a top 10 ranked Clemson team since Steve Spurrier did it in 1989.
