The NFL had its first game broadcast on Nickelodeon on Sunday and, naturally, there was slime.
In the first quarter of the Wild Card Round matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Chicago Bears, Drew Brees put the Saints on the board first when he connected with Michael Thomas for an 11-yard touchdown pass.
As Thomas burst through the goal line and the officials signaled touchdown, virtual slime was shot out of cannons into the endzone, showering Thomas and the rest of the Saints players celebrating.
The virtual slime cannons were a big hit among fans on social media, who advocated more games and sports to be aired on Nickelodeon:
The folks at Nick certainly seemed to think the NFL needs more slime cannons.
